MINISTRY TRACKS FOR WIRED 2010

Participants will be able to pick the ministry tract of their choice to participate in during WIRED 2010 by giving us their first, second and third Ministry Team options for the week. Then our staff will use those requests to match each individual with the ministry needs that we have for WIRED 2010. Each participant will be working during the entire week in this ministry activity and will not be allowed to change ministry tracks during the course of the week. Students and Adult Chaperones from all participating will be divided up and placed in small groups of 12-20 that will be working in one of these specific ministry tracks. 

CONSTRUCTION 

Participants in this track will spend their week building houses, wheelchair ramps, repairing floors, patching sheetrock, and other basic repair jobs around the homes of the elderly and less fortunate within our community. Participants may also have the opportunity to help at local ministry centers throughout our community that are in need of renovation. These tracks will work with various organizations, individuals and local housing authorities to complete needed projects throughout our community.  

 PAINTING

This ministry track involves painting the interior of homes for the elderly and less fortunate within our community. Participants may also have the opportunity to help at local ministry centers throughout our community that are in need of renovation. These tracks will work with various organizations, individuals and local housing authorities to complete needed projects throughout our community.  

 

 ROOFING

This ministry track involves the repairing or replacing the roofs of homes for the elderly and less fortunate within our community. Participants may also have the opportunity to help at local ministry centers throughout our community that are in need of renovation. These tracks will work with various organizations, individuals and local housing authorities to complete needed projects throughout our community. 

 

 SOCIAL MINISTRY

This ministry track involves a variety of ministry opportunities for meeting the physical, emotional, mental and spiritual needs of people. This track ministers to the following populations and organizations:mentally/physically handicapped centers, homeless shelters, soup kitchens, food banks, clothing closets, nursing homes, and assisted living centers.  

 

CHILDREN'S MINISTRY - VBS 

This ministry tract involves working with children in a variety of settings. These tracks will include Vacation Bible Schools and Backyard Bible Clubs for children at local apartment complexes, government housing authorities, children' homes and rural churches that no longer can do Vacation Bible Schools on their own.The purpose of this track is to minister to children while at the same time providing WIRED students with the opportunity to teach and lead children in telling Bible stories, making crafts, puppet shows, singing, drams, interpretive movement and playing games.

 

CHILDREN'S MINISTRY - GAMES AND RECREATION

 

Students participating in this ministry tract will be trained on how to play with a purpose through games & recreation at the Boy's and Girl's clubs in Dothan and at Sports Camps to be help in Hartford and Headland. Students will be taught to use their athletic ability and willing hearts not for their own glory, but for the glory of God. The gospel will be shared through sportsmanship and Christ-like attitudes.
