1 Timothy 4:12-16

Don't let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in life, in love, in faith and in purity. Until I come, devote yourself to the public reading of Scripture, to preaching and to teaching. Do not neglect your gift, which was given you through a prophetic message when the body of elders laid their hands on you.

Be diligent in these matters; give yourself wholly to them, so that everyone may see your progress. Watch your life and doctrine closely. Persevere in them, because if you do, you will save both yourself and your hearers.

About Wired Week

WHAT IS WIRED?

Have you ever stopped to think about all the ways we are wired together?
Telephone & electrical lines are run all over our community to make sure we have power & can talk to each other whenever we want.  We are also wired together through our local schools, community organizations, and churches.   Some of us may be Baptist; others may be Methodist or even Assembly of God.  Nevertheless, we are all wired together through our bond which is our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ!

Have you ever really thought of what might happen in our community if all of God’s people joined together with an unwavering commitment to reach them for Christ?  That is what WIRED 2010 plans to accomplish in the Wiregrass from June 27-July 3, 2009.  WIRED 2010 will bring students together from all over the Wiregrass area to be His hands and feet by showing them that they are loved through our ministry activities.  WIRED 2010 will allow local student ministries to work together in their own backyard to show Christ’s love for His kingdom.

A primary mission of WIRED 2010 is to enable students throughout the Wiregrass to not only be wired into their student ministries, but also to be wired together with Christian students from churches all over the area.  Those students who are serious about their relationship with God will have the great opportunity to not only form lasting friendships with other local youth, but to continue to work hand-in-hand in ministry opportunities to radically change Dothan for years to come!

Can we even begin to imagine how God could use WIRED 2010 to bring our community back to Him, while at the same time empowering the local body of believers?  Would we even be able to comprehend the amount of Spiritual energy that would be generated by wiring together dozens of student ministries and hundreds of Godly students?  Can any of us think of a better opportunity to share the gospel with such a great number of people through just one event that wires all of us together?  How much strength and confidence could students gain from knowing that they are wired together through Christ to an unlimited supply of fellow Christians who are fighting the same fight, and experiencing the same struggles as they are?  Could we imagine the power of God that could be generated throughout our area if every student ministry was wired together with a common purpose?

We could have never imagined how God would use WIRED over the past to years to call over 75 participating students into the ministry and have over 250 people accept Christ as their Lord and Savior.  In fact, God is still using student ministries that participated in WIRED the past two years in ongoing ministry programs at sites like Mama Tina’s Mission House, Dothan Rescue Mission, and Adult Daycare.

Without a doubt, WIRED will give your student ministry the greatest opportunity to see first hand the spiritual and physical needs of the Wiregrass area.  Your students will gain strength and confidence from knowing that they are wired together through Christ to an unlimited supply of fellow Christians who are fighting the same fight, and experiencing the same struggles as they are. Come experience the power of God that is generated throughout our area when student ministries are wired together with a common purpose.

The core of WIRED 2010 is “wiring” together Christian students from all over the Wiregrass area for one common purpose…REACHING PEOPLE FOR CHRIST!  Its goal is to tell the good news of Christ not to any community, but OUR OWN, in an effort to wire people into the body of believers within the Wiregrass area!  Its not just about building up any student to go do great things for Christ, but it is about building up a student that is a part of our own community who, when wired together with other passionate Christian students for the Wiregrass area, will grow His kingdom and continue to build the church of tomorrow…..TODAY!
